Pokémon World Championships (WCS) is an annual, invite-only, 3-day competition series focused on the Trading Card Game (TCG), Video Game (VG), Pokémon GO, and UNITE. It’s the culmination of the Pokémon Championship Series which includes various regional and national tournaments. GPJ is working with TPCi to incorporate other activation and programing elements to engage competitors and spectators. The 2024 Pokémon World Champsionships was held in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.

Tournament Hall
The competition was held at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center. We helped TPCi introduce new programming activation areas for attendees to enage in while the tournamnet was going on.

This museum contains celebrative displays of merchandise from the past 20 years of the Pokémon World Championships. It also included a timeline of Pokémon’s video game history.

Illustration Gallery
This art gallery displayed works from the top 100 artists of the Pokémon Illustration contest.
It also inluded an interactive space where fans were encouraged to draw their own Pokémon card.

Autograph Room
This space created a memorable and exclusive autograph experience for 400 die-hard fans to meet of the most iconic game designers and illustrators of Pokémon.

Collect & Trade
This was a safe space where enthusiasts of all ages can trade Pokémon goods and memorabilia.

Trainer Town
This was a free, fan-focused activation area for the Pokémon community. This area included activities such as lawn games, photo opps, and Pokémon meet & greet’s.

Stamp Rally
This was a scavenger hunt containing 10+ activation points and connected fans across the two campuses. After completion of the scavenger hunt, fans were rewarded with an exclusive sticker prize.
